Through the safe spaces we create it opens opportunities for us to be able to support young people on subjects they may have struggled with alone. I shared a real and raw moment from a recent intervention with one of my young mentees who was the victim of a knife crime robbery. All young people need to understand this:

Your life is worth more than any possession.

We talk about:

• The importance of perspective in high-pressure situations

• Why choosing to walk away does not make you weak

• The value of living to see another day with your loved ones

• Staying focused on the bigger picture and your personal journey

This is a message for all young people navigating the pressures of the streets, peer influence, and pride. You are not defined by what’s taken from you — but by how you respond.

Let’s shift the mindset from retaliation to resilience, from pride to purpose.
